enri Cultural Institute, 43A W.13th St., NYC

Music has the power to heal. It eases personal anguish in a world burdened with violence and hatred. BREATHING PEACE is a concert to contemplate peace and find a personal path to compassion and tolerance through inward reflection and outward action. A number of well-known New York musicians will come together, donating their time and talent to make this an afternoon to encourage contemplation of how we, both individually and as a community, can work toward a more peaceful world. Join us for a Sunday afternoon of personal harmony. Relax and listen to music. Admission is free but the audience will be asked to volunteer time or donate money to an organization that promotes peace. Recommendations will be made available. Admission is free, but please register HERE

My first orchestra composition without Japanese instruments had a world premiere on June 22, 2019 at the magnificent Round Top Music Festival in Texas. It is “Fantazía” for violin solo and orchestra. I’m delighted to have Christiano Rodrigues as the soloist and Jason Thomas Aylward as the conductor. INFO YouTube
